The unit on the
left is eight years old. We recently added a brand new GE Logiqbook machine
shown on the right, that has all the same bells and whistles with a new
option.....computer image enhancement! Notice that this diagnostic machine is
the size of a laptop computer and can be easily brought to the patient, making
it extremely versatile. All of our ultrasound equipment and its computer system
is linked via our network to all digital data in the hospital. We are now able
to send not only ultrasound images via the internet, but also radiographs, blood work, EKGs,
microscope images, and still photographs to any one of the many board certified
specialists anywhere in the world. We often receive a second opinion consult
within hours!
