Community Outreach

Compassion Beyond Our Clinic

Our commitment to your pets extends well beyond our clinical walls. Through active community outreach, we support the local families and animals that make the Capital Region so special. By engaging in school visits, social media education, and informative news videos, we strive to strengthen the human-animal bond and ensure high-quality veterinary care is accessible to everyone in our community.

Supporting Pet Owners Through Education

We believe that informed pet owners make the best decisions for their animals. Through community events, school visits, social media education, informative news videos, and partnerships with local organizations, we share helpful information about preventive care, nutrition, safety, and responsible pet ownership. When families understand how to keep their pets healthy, the whole community benefits.

Fostering a Healthier Community for Pets and People

Pets play an important role in our lives, and we’re proud to contribute to a community where they can thrive. By staying active and engaged, we help promote public health, encourage preventive care, and support the well-being of both pets and the people who love them.

Pet Connection Sponsorship

The Animal Hospital logo

We are honored to maintain a longstanding sponsorship of Steve Caporizzo’s Pet Connection, a local news program that has changed the lives of over 30,000 pets by helping them find their forever homes. For us, this partnership is a vital way to extend our care beyond the walls of The Animal Hospital and into the living rooms of our neighbors.

Education Beyond the Exam Room

This platform allows us to serve as a voice for pet health across the Capital District. Through informative news interviews, we’ve had the opportunity to discuss critical topics that keep our local pets safe, including:

  • Heat Stroke Prevention: Essential safety tips for our humid New York summers.

  • Tick-Borne Diseases: Staying ahead of the risks in our local environment.

  • Emergency Preparedness: How to create a comprehensive first-aid kit for your pet.

A Milestone for Our Team

Our team recently appeared in a twenty-minute news feature to reflect on our hospital's history and our commitment to excellence through the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation. It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss our voluntary adherence to the highest standards in veterinary medicine and celebrate our recent nomination for the elite AAHA Accredited Practice of the Year award. This nomination is a reflection of our team’s tireless work to meet the highest possible standards in veterinary medicine. We are incredibly grateful to Steve Caporizzo and the community for allowing us to share our passion for excellence on such a meaningful stage.

Pet Connection Adoption Day

Sponsored by The Healthy Pet Center

For ten years, The Animal Hospital was the proud host of a one-of-a-kind annual event that raised upwards of $250,000 for pets in need and helped more than 3,000 animals find their forever homes.

Created in partnership with Steve and Lisa Caporizzo, this event focused on promoting pet adoption through rescue. Their tireless dedication was the heartbeat of this initiative. In recognition of this decade of service, we were incredibly honored to receive a New York Senate Citation for our commitment to Pet Connection Adoption Day and the Capital District. This citation celebrates our team's impact and our core belief that caring for animals means being an active, supportive partner to our community.

Earl B. Feiden and Healthy Pet Center Pet Connection Adoption Day

October 8,2025

The Animal Hospital was lucky enough to be a part of the Earl B. Feiden and Healthy Pet Center Pet Connection Adoption Day! It was a beautiful day where local animal advocates were able to come together for a great cause. The Animal Protective Foundation of Schdy held a free microchip clinic, a handful of animals were able to meet their future families, and Pet Connection was able to raise money for the cause. Dr. Lexi and Dr. Caity were happy to answer questions for the public and even saw some of our own patients enjoying the day! We’re so happy there is such a warm, welcoming and supportive community for local pets in need.

The Animal Hospital hosted a month-long fundraiser created to raise awareness for International Homeless Animals Day. We’re above and beyond appreciative of everyone who donated to the cause! All donations went to Steve Caporizzo’s Pet Connection, in honor of his recent retirement and all he does for local animals searching for their forever home.

School Visit – Discussing Guide Dogs

We at The Animal Hospital are proud to support the efforts of the Guiding Eyes for the Blind by providing veterinary care at a discounted cost for this amazing organization. One of our technicians has dedicated much of her time to becoming an incredible puppy raiser and has successfully had many puppies graduate to become guide dogs.

North Country Wild Care Gala

May 23,2024

North Country Wild Care (NCWC), a non-profit organization of wildlife rehabbers, held its annual spring fundraiser gala. This event helps aid rehabilitators financially with expenses relating to the care of injured or orphaned wildlife, such as formula, syringes, nipples, caging, medication, and other supplies. Two of our team members, Krystal and Karen, attended the event to support this organization’s commitment to their efforts to help wildlife all year long. If you would also like to support NCWC, head to their website and make a donation by clicking here.
