Meet the Veterinarians

Dr. Lexi Becker, DVM

Lexi Becker, DVM

Veterinarian — She/Her

Lexi Becker, DVM, grew up at The Animal Hospital. From the age of seven, she knew she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps, caring for and healing companion animals. Early experiences accompanying him on late-night emergency calls had a lasting influence on her path in veterinary medicine. When her father retired, Lexi was honored to take over the practice and continues to uphold and build upon the values and traditions on which it was founded. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in internal medicine and laparoscopic surgery. Lexi combines current medical knowledge with genuine compassion, grounded in her deep appreciation for the human–animal bond.


She enjoys outdoor activities, including running and hiking, as well as spending time with her husband and sons. Lexi and her family share their home with a released Guiding Eyes dog named Ru.

Dr. Jeremy Mayrose, DVM

Jeremy Mayrose, DVM

Veterinarian — He/Him

Jeremy Mayrose, DVM, grew up on Long Island, NY. He has always had an interest in animals, and growing up, his family had dogs, cats, and lizards. He attended college on Long Island, earning a BS in Biology before going on to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He enjoys working with all species, with a special interest in exotics, wildlife, and honeybee medicine.

He shares his life with his wife, children, three dogs (Joey, Pepper, and August), and a cat (Nugget). Outside of work, he enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible, whether gardening, hiking, or running and biking with his wife. When not outside, he enjoys reading and writing fantasy novels.

Becky Green, DVM

Veterinarian — She/Her

From a young age, Becky Green, DVM, knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She grew up volunteering and working at various animal shelters and veterinary hospitals in the Capital District. Dr. Becky graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cornell University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

Over the past 11 years as a veterinarian, she has had many meaningful experiences and values the close relationships she has developed with her patients and their pet parents. Career highlights include practicing in Burlington, Vermont, and volunteering for a month in rural Uganda with her husband. While there, they worked in healthcare with Imaging the World, and she also had the opportunity to study one of the last remaining mountain gorilla populations in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Her special interests include behavior, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and geriatric medicine.

Her hobbies include travel, running, hiking, skiing, ice skating parties at her parents’ pond, and spending time on Lake George in the summer. She and her husband have three young children—Logan, Mirabel, and Laney—and a Bouvier named Georgie.

Caitlyn Robertson, DVM

Veterinarian — She/Her

Caitlyn Robertson, DVM, grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY, and knew from a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Dr. Caity is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care and values building strong relationships with both pets and their families.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Caity enjoys traveling, skiing, and hiking. When she is not outdoors, she can often be found reading and spending time with her rabbit, Azalea, who has been with her since veterinary school.

Meet Our Management

Karen, LVT

Karen, LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician & Practice Manager — She/Her

Karen has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for over 20 years. She joined The Animal Hospital staff as head technician in February 2006 and has since advanced to become practice manager after earning a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Administration. Karen enjoys seeing patients grow from young juveniles into mature adults. Her favorite aspects of practice include phlebotomy (drawing blood with sensitivity), placing intravenous catheters, and expressing anal glands.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and their German Shepherd, Bear. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, other arts and crafts, and spending time on the water with her husband and son on their boat.

Brenna, LVT

Head Licensed Veterinary Technician & AAHA Accreditation Manager — She/Her

Brenna graduated in May 2017 from SUNY Delhi with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Science Technology. She joined The Animal Hospital team in June 2017 and gladly accepted the position of Head Licensed Technician in September 2020. In her free time, she enjoys camping, boating, reading, and relaxing with her five cats.

Marissa, LVT

Marissa, LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician — She/Her

Marissa graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2009 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Science Technology and joined our team in 2013. Her favorite part of the job is being able to perform a variety of tasks in a single day, including taking radiographs, drawing blood, working in the lab, and performing dental cleanings. Marissa is originally from the Adirondacks near Lake Placid and enjoys camping, gardening, and watching the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. She shares her life with her husband and son.

Jill, LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician — She/Her

Jill graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2018 and became a valued member of our team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in December 2019. A Guilderland native, she began volunteering at The Animal Hospital in 2013, where her passion for animals truly flourished. She is also a dedicated puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. At home, Jill enjoys the company of her released Guiding Eyes dog, Hudson, and her three beloved cats: Chicken, Tuna, and Pretzel.

Head Veterinary Assistant — He/Him

Kal joined The Animal Hospital team in February 2021. He began working in veterinary medicine in 2014, gaining experience in general practice, shelter medicine, and emergency care. He completed his undergraduate studies in spring 2020, earning degrees in psychology and fine art, along with minors in sociology and English. He is currently pursuing an MFA in literary fiction. When not at The Animal Hospital or working toward his graduate degree, he can be found enjoying his hobbies and caring for his cats, reptiles, and invertebrates.

Meredith

Veterinary Assistant — She/They

Meredith grew up mostly in the Northeast, spending her youth camping and hiking with her family dogs. She began working in veterinary medicine at age 16 at a veterinary hospital in Coral Springs, Florida, and continued in the field after moving to New York. Over the years, she has worked as an assistant, in management roles, and with rescue groups. She has also assisted with animal cruelty cases and worked in wildlife rehabilitation.

After traveling extensively along the East Coast—backpacking, camping, and biking—she moved to Arizona. She spent much of her free time there hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the outdoors. During that time, she also lived out of a van for two months while traveling through national parks and forests, with Glacier National Park and the Tetons among her favorites.

Meredith currently lives on a small homestead with two goats, two dogs, chickens, ducks, a goose named Meeps, the occasional opossum visitor, and a variety of vegetable and flower gardens.

Veterinary Assistant — She/Her

Elena joined The Animal Hospital staff in December 2024. She has always known she wanted to work with animals. She earned her bachelor’s degree in zoology with a minor in psychology from SUNY Oswego. She has spent the past several years working in the natural sciences field and is passionate about animal care and environmental stewardship. Elena is currently pursuing a degree in veterinary technology through SUNY Delhi.

In her free time, Elena enjoys baking, painting, and crocheting. She has a strong appreciation for nature, which extends into both her hobbies and professional interests. Elena shares her home with two cats, Piper and Twyla, and enjoys spending quality time with them.

Meet Our Client Care Coordinators

Head Client Care Coordinator — She/Her

Barbara was born on a small dairy farm in Guilderland Center and now comes to us from Sharon Springs, NY. She joined The Animal Hospital team in 2019, bringing over 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine and emergency care. In 2023, she became head of the client care coordination team.

In her free time, Barbara is an LMT and enjoys spending time at home with her two hounds (Joxer and Maverick), three cats (Vertigo, George, and G.I. Jane), and a growing flock of chickens.

Moe

Client Care Coordinator & Inventory Manager — She/Her

Maureen joined the staff at The Animal Hospital in July 2004, shortly after moving to New York to be closer to her family. She assists the doctors during appointments and also works at reception. In 2019, she took on the role of floor manager and ordering supervisor. Maureen graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, in 2002 with a BA in Environmental Studies. Her hobbies include reptile husbandry, canoeing, fishing, and drawing.

Jodi

Client Care Coordinator & Social Media Director — She/Her

Jodi initially started working in the veterinary field in 2007 as a Kennel Assistant while attending college for Fine Arts and quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine. After seven years as a Veterinary Assistant and Client Care Coordinator at a local emergency clinic, she found her work family at The Animal Hospital. She later spent two years in a holistic and integrative veterinary practice, gaining experience with acupuncture, chiropractic care, and herbal treatments, before returning to The Animal Hospital. Jodi has a soft spot for senior canines, squishy-faced breeds, pit bull terriers, and squirrels.

Outside of work, Jodi spends most of her time with her partner, Frank, and their daughter, Soley. They share a cozy home along the Wynantskill Creek in Troy, NY, with their two dogs—a Miniature Schnauzer mix named Sergio and an English Bulldog named Ingrid—and two cats, Cramer and Kismet. She enjoys gardening, cooking, baking, painting, and kayaking.

Client Care Coordinator, Wildlife Rehabilitator & I.T. Coordinator — They/Them

Hail joined The Animal Hospital staff as a receptionist in 2022 after graduating from SUNY Cobleskill with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. They grew up in a household where animals were always present, often including rescue animals and wildlife.

Hail has a lifelong passion for birds and reptiles and was raised with several species of parrots, including macaws, Amazons, cockatiels, and lovebirds. They currently share their home with two beloved parrots—Lui, an umbrella cockatoo, and Sammy, a yellow-naped Amazon—along with three cats (Clover, Chai, and Magic Merlin), three doves (Toast, Frankie, and Bean), two snakes (Sage and Gooseberry), and a leopard gecko named Chamomile.

Hail enjoys talking about their animals and has a special interest in parrot rescue and wildlife rehabilitation. In their free time, they enjoy creating illustrations, working on graphic design projects, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with a close group of friends.

Client Care Coordinator and OSHA Compliance Officer — She/Her

Krystal is a Certified Veterinary Assistant who joined our team in April 2019, bringing with her several years of experience from another veterinary practice. From the age of 13, she knew she wanted to work with animals. She began her career at local pet stores in her hometown of Delmar and later worked as a groomer for seven years.

In 2016, Krystal expanded her knowledge and skills by earning a career diploma in veterinary assisting from Penn Foster. She went on to receive a second career diploma in wildlife and forestry conservation in 2017, broadening her understanding of animal care beyond our furry and feathered companions. More recently, she has taken on reception duties on select Saturdays.

Outside of work, Krystal enjoys making memories with her family and soaking up the sun on outdoor adventures.

Support Staff — She/Her

Gwen joined The Animal Hospital in August 2024 as a kennel assistant. She is currently a student at SUNY Cobleskill pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, with the goal of becoming a veterinarian. Gwen enjoys learning the ins and outs of the hospital and supporting her coworkers by ensuring everything is clean and organized for appointments. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and playing with her two dogs, Boomer and Louis.

Support Staff — He/Him

Jason joined The Animal Hospital staff in 2001 as our full-time grounds and maintenance technician. An accomplished jack of all trades, he is responsible for keeping the grounds in picturesque condition, removing snow in the early morning hours, and maintaining all aspects of the building and equipment. He especially enjoys his four-wheel-drive John Deere tractor, complete with a climate-controlled cab and stereo system.
